In addition to creating pathways and opportunities for community economic development through employment, Daniels and TCHC see value in leveraging their purchasing power to source goods and services – everything from catering, to millwork, photography and manufactured textiles – in the local community. Social purchasing recognizes the skills, strengths and potential that exist within Regent Park, and makes a conscious effort to source goods and services from local residents.

Daniels Local Art Program

In recognition of Toronto’s many talented artists and craftspeople, Daniels purchases and/or commissions locally-sourced art from emerging, mid-career, and established artists for the purpose of displaying their works within our GTA communities. Foregoing generic stock art from art depots, this community-based approach to social procurement simultaneously beautiﬁes the community, celebrates local story telling and heritage, and brings economic beneﬁt and exposure to local artists.
